Penn State Women’s Volleyball Earns Four Postseason All-Big Ten Team Placements

Ahead of Penn State women’s volleyball’s 2023 NCAA Tournament debut, the Nittany Lions earned four Big Ten postseason honors Thursday.

Transfers Jess Mruzik and Mac Podraza were named to the all-conference first team, while Camryn Hannah was placed on the second team. Macy Van Den Elzen was honored with Penn State’s All-Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

Mruzik, a transfer from Michigan, was a unanimous first-team selection after concluding the regular season with 464 kills, a season .246 hitting percentage, and accumulating 524.5 total points.

Penn State’s second first-team selection, Podraza, recorded 1,104 assists and 224 digs in her one season in Rec Hall since her transfer from Ohio State.

Hannah, meanwhile, registered 294 kills en route to a .272 hitting percentage during the regular season. The former Clemson rightside hitter accumulated 345.5 points.

Van Den Elzen participated in three games in 2023 and recorded two total attempts and one dig. She was Pennsylvania’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2020 and a first-team All-American in high school.

The Nittany Lions will continue their 2023 campaign in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Yale at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, in Lawrence, Kansas. Folks can tune into the matchup on ESPN+.
