Penn State Libraries To Host ‘De-Stress Fest’ Events Throughout Finals Week

With finals week on the horizon, many students may be finding that amid last-minute projects, exams, and regular end-of-semester shenanigans, their schedules are stressful. Beginning on Sunday, December 10, and running until Thursday, December 14, Penn State University Libraries will offer activities to help students through finals week as part of its De-Stress Fest offerings at on-campus libraries.

With events slated at five libraries, De-Stress Fest will feature, snacks, beverages, games, and puzzles, and more, to help students relieve stress during finals week. The libraries will also offer plenty of study space for students, too. Below is a list of the events happening around Penn State’s University Park campus.

Tuesday, December 5 To Thursday, December 7 — Architecture and Landscape Architecture Library

Before finals week kicks into full gear, students have the opportunity to join staff and students at the Architecture and Landscape Architecture Library for puzzles, snacks, and crafts to help them de-stress. This event will be offered daily from 5 to 9 p.m. on the first floor of the Stuckeman Family Building.

Sunday, December 10 To Tuesday, December 12 — Pattee Library and Paterno Library

Beginning the weekend before finals, Pattee and Paterno Library will offer free coffee, snacks, and crafts to students as part of the university-wide effort to provide stress-relieving activities. From 3 to 8 p.m. in the Mann Assembly Room, activities will be offered daily for students through the beginning of the week.

Monday, December 11 To Thursday, December 14 — Engineering Library

During finals week, the Engineering Library, located at 325 Hammond, will offer coloring, puzzles, a button machine, and group study rooms for De-Stress Fest activities. The event will also offer snacks and beverages to students while supplies last.

Monday, December 11 To Thursday, December 14 — Fletcher L. Byrom Earth & Mineral Sciences Library

Throughout next week, the Earth and Mineral Sciences Library, located at 105 Deike, will host coloring and jigsaw puzzle activities as part of its De-Stress Fest offerings. Additionally, the library will offer group study rooms, a virtual reality center by reservation, and snacks to fuel studying while supplies last. As part of its offerings through finals week, the library will also host Cub Pantry, a partner of Lion’s Pantry during the experience.

Monday, December 11 To Thursday, December 14 — Physical & Mathematical Sciences Library

The Physical and Mathematical Sciences Library will also offer coloring and jigsaw puzzles throughout the week. Located at 201 Davey Lab, students can join the library as part of the activities to prepare for their finals throughout the week of December 11.

The university also reminds students that library hours vary throughout finals week and through the end of the semester. Students interested in participating in De-Stress Fest activities should check online to confirm their college’s library hours before participating.
