Shorter Offensive Tackle Commit Alan Herron Flips To Maryland

James Franklin’s “drama-free” signings have come to an end.

Division II Shorter University offensive tackle verbal commit Alan Herron flipped to Maryland, as first reported by 247Sports’ Daniel Gallen.

Herron verbally committed to Penn State on December 11 on Instagram.

Herron originally committed to the Nittany Lions following offers from Maryland, Auburn, Clemson, and others, though the Terrapins announced the addition of the offensive tackle Thursday afternoon. He was Franklin’s first transfer portal commitment following the conclusion of the regular season.

Herron’s original Instagram post announcing his commitment to Penn State has since been deleted.
