Penn State ‘Monitoring’ Winter Storm Amid Spring Move-In

As a winter storm moves up the East Coast and through State College over the weekend, Penn State is “monitoring” weather that could potentially affect students returning to campus for the spring semester.

Penn State Housing and Food Services is encouraging students to return to campus early Saturday morning or mid-afternoon on Sunday.

To prioritize safety, the university is opening residence halls at 6 a.m. on Saturday, two hours earlier than originally planned, to accommodate early move-ins to beat the storm. Should additional accommodations be made due to changing weather, information will be delivered to on-campus students’ emails and on social media.

In the meantime, the Office of Physical Plant will maintain campus roadways, sidewalks, and parking lots, according to the university.
