Penn State Football Early Enrollees ‘Set The Standard’ On First Day Of Class
It’s the first week of classes, so you know what that means. The newest Nittany Lions are setting the standard.
It’s the semesterly tradition of James Franklin’s newest group of incoming players “setting the standard” in their first classes in Happy Valley by sitting in the front row and arriving at least 10 minutes early to class.
Eleven of the Nittany Lion’s newest players showed how much of an academic weapon they are Monday morning for their first-ever day of classes at Penn State.
Ethan Grunkemeyer
Four-star quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer got a fantastic front-and-center spot for his first class of the semester. Hopefully, Grunkemeyer can turn this standard-setting work in the classroom into success on the field for the Nittany Lions.
De’Andre Cook
De’Andre Cook chose what has to be the closest seat to the professor’s desk in the entire room. He earns an excellent view of the chalkboard and some bonus points for staying hydrated with a bottle of water.
Kari Jackson
Three-star linebacker Kari Jackson made it to the front for his first classes, but did he make it there 10 minutes early? The world may never know.
Jon Mitchell
It was tough to see no hashtags, and I don’t think that looks front and center of the room. Jon Mitchell may be in the front row, but this could be improved.
Luke Reynolds
Five-star tight end Luke Reynolds kicked off his Penn State journey with RPTM 101, a great class for students ready to jump into their college careers. Hopefully, Professor Emigh will lead a good class this semester.
Quinton Martin
Quinton Martin has the most sideways photo of the bunch, and unfortunately, misspelled standard in his tweet. We’ll give him a pass, though. The first days of school always bring out some nerves.
Garrett Sexton
Setting the standard for the setting the standard tweets. Ten minutes early, front row, tagged CJF, and even has the #setthestandard spelled correctly. What more could you ask from your players?
Xavier Gilliam
Three-star edge rusher Xavier Gilliam seemed quite excited to let the world know he was setting the standard. On top of that, it looks like he’s sitting next to someone, so hopefully he made a friend on the first day.
Cooper Cousins
Another RPTM 101 scholar is offensive tackle Cooper Cousins. I wonder if he sat next to Reynolds and if they’ll share notes throughout the semester.
Vaboue Toure
We nearly got a full tweet from Vaboue Toure with the hashtag and the caption, but was he 10 minutes early? Important information was withheld here.
Andrew Dufault
Rounding out the early enrollees was long snapper Andrew Dufault whose first class was somewhere with long white desks and some of the best-looking chairs I’ve seen on campus.
