Nu Beauty Bar To Open Storefront On Calder Way

Nu Beauty Bar is set to open a storefront at 419 East Calder Way in downtown State College.

The beauty store will offer teeth whitening, braiding, waxing, and eyelash extension services along with extensions, wigs, and ethnic hair products.

Nu Beauty Bar owner and cosmetologist Callie Turner anticipates the new location will open “soon.”

Nu Beauty Bar currently sells its products at a kiosk in Nittany Mall, and the beauty booth will continue to operate at the mall in addition to the storefront.

“The people that come to my store are from ages 16 to 80 years old. They are Black, white, Hispanic, Asian…all ethnicities, because a lot of people wear wigs and hair extensions, and I have what they are looking for,” Turner told Onward State in 2021. “…In my store, there is no gender, no race, no prerequisite. It’s all about you and wanting the best products for you.”

For now, Nu Beauty will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its Nittany Mall location.
