Penn State Student Arrested For On-Campus Dorm Room Assault
A Penn State student was arrested Wednesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in his on-campus dorm room in September.
Eighteen-year-old Samuel Logan is accused of strangling, spitting on, striking, and forcing the female to perform sexual acts in his dorm room.
Logan and the victim agreed over Snapchat to meet in his dorm room around 9 p.m. on September 7, and the victim had only agreed to kiss for around 15 minutes, police said. Two friends were instructed by the victim to wait outside and call and text her if she didn’t exit Logan’s dorm room after 10 minutes.
After entering Logan’s dorm room, the pair began to kiss on Logan’s bed when the defendant pinned the victim against the bed and strangled her with his forearm while spitting and biting the victim. Meanwhile, the victim was screaming, crying, and thought she was going to die, according to police.
The victim’s two friends repeatedly called and texted the victim from outside Logan’s dorm room, but Logan took the victim’s phone and texted the friends “one sec” while continuing to assault her.
Logan then allegedly forced the victim to perform oral sex, and she had trouble breathing and talking. After ejaculating into her mouth, Logan told the victim to leave the room, according to the affidavit. The victim reconnected with her friends outside of his dorm room and was crying and distraught, police wrote.
The victim contacted Penn State Police and was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center where DNA samples provided evidence of seminal fluid on her face and clothes.
Simultaneously, police connected with Logan who said he remembered the victim agreed to kiss but was unsure of what else she agreed to do. Logan admitted to strangling, spitting, striking, and sexually assaulting her, according to police.
Logan is charged with felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and sexual assault and strangulation and misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and simple assault.
Logan was arraigned by District Judge Donald Hahn, and a preliminary hearing is set for January 31.
