‘Gimme Shelter’ Housing Security Benefit Concert Slated For February 1

In support of affordable housing initiatives in State College, multiple local organizations are banding together to present “Gimme Shelter: The Concert for Housing Security in the Centre Region.” The concert will run from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, at the South Hills School of Business & Technology on Waupelani Drive.

The event features several local bands and performers including Nittany Knights Barbershop Chorus, Eric Ian Farmer, Biscuit Jam, and My Hero Zero. With a strong artist lineup, the event will offer an enjoyable environment for all attendees. The event will also host local radio personality, Jeff Brown, as the event’s emcee.

The concert is presented as a collaboration between Out of the Cold, Centre Safe, State College Community Land Trust, and Housing Transitions. Each organization works toward helping those who are struggling to find affordable and safe housing.

Those interested in attending the event and supporting the cause are asked to purchase tickets online. Tickets are offered using a “name your price” system, with all proceedings directly benefiting housing security initiatives in the State College and surrounding area.
