Three-Star Small Forward Hudson Ward Commits To Penn State Hoops

Three-star small forward Hudson Ward announced his commitment to Penn State men’s basketball Wednesday afternoon on Twitter.

The 6’7″ Alberta, Canada, native is the fourth member of the Nittany Lions’ recruiting Class of 2024.

Ward is ranked as the No. 49-ranked small forward in Canada and the No. 1 small forward prospect in Alberta, according to On3. He attends Western Canada Prep Academy in Edmonton, Canada, which caters to basketball prospects to provide them with a year of “athletic and academic development prior to heading into full-time post-secondary.”

Ward received offers from San Diego, Rice, Long Beach State, and more, per On3. The small forward rostered with the U-17 Canadian national basketball team in the 2022 FIBA World Cup and registered a 40% clip from three-point land, he told On3 in March 2023.

Ward will join Jahvin Carter, Dominick Stewart, and Miles Goodman as part of head coach Mike Rhoades’ first full recruiting class in Happy Valley.
