Penn State Wrestling’s Beau Bartlett Named Big Ten Wrestler Of The Week

The Penn State wrestling season continues to get better, folks.

Penn State wrestling senior Beau Bartlett was awarded the Big Ten Wrestler of the Week after two star-studded performances in his last two bouts against conference opponents.

On Friday night, Bartlett defeated then-top-seeded, defending Big Ten champion Real Woods 7-2 in the Carver-Hawkeye Arena en route to a 29-6 victory over the then-No. 3 Iowa. Bartlett handed Woods his first loss of the 2023-24 season as well as his first regular-season loss in two years.

Bartlett followed up his top-ranked victory with a 4-1 win over Max Hermes of Rutgers in the season’s annual dual in the Bryce Jordan Center this past Monday. The victory aided the Nittany Lion wrestling team to a 35-3 lopsided victory, pushing Bartlett’s record to 16-0 on the year as well as cementing his newly found No. 1 ranked status.

Beau Bartlett and the rest of the Penn State wrestling team will be in action next when it takes on No. 3 Nebraska on Sunday, February 18, in Rec Hall. The dual will begin at 4 p.m. and be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
