UPUA To Host Annual Sustainability Summit April 1
The University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) is set to host the second annual Sustainability Summit from 3 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 1, in the HUB’s Heritage Hall.
The event will be held by UPUA in collaboration with Penn State Sustainability. Students can enjoy various interactive and educational activities to foster a better, more sustainable future for Penn State. Through each workshop, students will get the opportunity to share ideas for Penn State’s future and connect with fellow students and faculty.
Clinical psychologist and Executive Director of the Climate Emergency Fund Margaret Klein Salamon will kick off the evening as the keynote speaker. Salamon believes in an “all-hands-on-deck” strategy for protecting the environment and has emphasized this tactic through her roles as the founding principal of Climate Awakening and as the founder and former director of the Climate Mobilization.
Additionally, a clothing swap will occur throughout the summit to further celebrate sustainability. Students are encouraged to bring an article of clothing to trade at the event.
Students interested in attending the Sustainability Summit should RSVP here.
