Registration Open for We Are Weekend (June 21-22)

Registration is open for We Are Weekend, set for June 21–22 on the University Park campus. Hosted by the Penn State Alumni Association, the popular event is open to all Penn Staters.

You can register and view the schedule, which features a carnival at Medlar Field, capped with fireworks; commemorative photos at the Nittany Lion Shrine and Hintz Family Alumni Center; campus tours, and much more. Additionally, all Penn Staters can contribute to a paint-by-number illustration that will be located at the Alumni Center, from 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Friday, and 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Saturday. The final mural is shown above.

For Penn Staters from the Class of 1974, the Pioneer Induction Dinner will be held from 5:30–9:00 p.m. at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. This annual dinner honors the 50th anniversary of the Penn State class’s graduation and serves as an opportunity to recognize alumni for all they’ve done for Penn State.

Discounted rooms blocks are available at several hotels in the State College area. Complete details are on the registration page.

The African American Alumni Organization (AAAO) of Washington, D.C., one of nearly 250 Alumni Association affiliate groups, will host two events. First, from 7:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, the AAAO will host an online session titled, “Build A Killer Résumé.” This workshop will prepare prospective job seekers with tips and techniques for how to land an interview by strengthening your résumé, and then provide additional pointers for how to do well on your interview. You’ll receive a résumé template, work through it, and perform mock interviews. Then, scheduled for 9:00–10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Alumni Center, the group will host Zumba Mania. Enjoy a musically charged 60-minute FITCAMP and participate in an intense Zumba class. Jabari, certified Zumba instructor, will play music that gets participants pumped and take them on a rollercoaster of exercise routines. Additionally, Penn Staters are encouraged to save the date for the Black Alumni Reunion, set for Oct. 25–26, also on the University Park campus.
