Penn State football confirmed it will face West Virginia in its season-opening matchup on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff. The Nittany Lions will begin their season on Saturday, August 31, in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Penn State football is (almost) back, folks.

Penn State football’s season-opener against West Virginia will kick off at noon on Saturday, August 31, at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown, West Virginia, according to Brett McMurphy of Action Network HQ. It’ll be televised on FOX.

The Nittany Lions defeated the Mountaineers 38-15 in primetime at Beaver Stadium to open the 2023 season. Drew Allar was sensational in his debut, with 325 passing yards, three touchdowns, and a 72% completion rate.

Penn State owns a 49-2-9 record against West Virginia, according to Winsipedia. The Nittany Lions have won the past five matchups dating back to 1989.
