Penn State Wrestling Alum Jason Nolf Retires

One of Penn State’s greatest wrestling exports has decided to hang up his boots.

Former Penn State wrestler Jason Nolf announced his retirement from wrestling on Twitter in a 1-minute video posted to Twitter on Monday. Nolf wrestled for the Nittany Lions from 2014-18 and racked up two Big Ten championships and three NCAA titles.

In his time with Penn State, Nolf captured three straight national championships from 2017-19. In his senior year, Nolf finished with a remarkable 31-0 record as he helped Penn State win its fourth national title in a row.

After graduation, Nolf went on to have success as a professional wrestler as he won back-to-back US Open National Championships in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Nolf also won gold medals at the 2023 and 2024 Zagreb Grand Prix as well as the 2020 Pan American Championships. Nolf’s career closed with an Olympic trials loss to Kyle Dake at the Bryce Jordan Center.
