Report: Amani Oruwariye Released By Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars have released former Penn State cornerback Amani Oruwariye, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday morning.

Oruwaryie was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2019 and played with them for four seasons. He recorded 173 total tackles, nine interceptions, and two fumble recoveries while in Detroit.

Oruwariye signed to the New York Giants practice squad in March 2023 before moving to Jacksonville. Oruwaryie signed with the Jaguars as a practice squad player last October and didn’t record any stats while with the team.

Before the NFL, Oruwariye played four seasons at Penn State where he recorded 103 total tackles, two of which were for a loss, eight interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, and forced one fumble.
