Report: Sean Clifford Released By Green Bay Packers

Former Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford has been released by the Green Bay Packers, according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Clifford’s release comes after the Packers traded for quarterback Malik Willis on Monday.

Clifford spent six years in the blue and white and became the program leader in wins as a starting quarterback (32), completion percentage (.614), completions (833), passing yards (10,661), total yards (11,734), passing touchdowns (86) and pass attempts (1,356). After graduating in 2022, Clifford was selected 149th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.

After a strong 2023 preseason, Clifford spent the 2023 season as the backup behind Jordan Love and completed one pass for 37 yards.
