Izzy Starck Named Big Ten Women’s Volleyball Co-Freshman Of The Week

Penn State women’s volleyball setter Izzy Starck was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the third time this season, the conference announced Monday. Starck was honored alongside USC’s Jadyn Livings.

In the Penn State Classic against Yale and James Madison, Starck helped propel the Nittany Lions to victory by leading the team to .351 hitting. Penn State only surrendered one set against Yale in the tournament, and Starck was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Starck averaged 10.8 assists per set while leading Penn State to .309 hitting in matches against Pitt, James Madison, and Yale. She also added 1.1 kills, 2.3 digs, and 0.5 blocks per set.

After falling to No. 4 in the AVCA rankings, Starck and the Nittany Lions will face Purdue and Michigan State in the coming week.
