Penn State Softball To Compete In 2025 NFCA Leadoff Classic

Penn State softball is set to compete in the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Leadoff Classic, the program announced Monday.

The Nittany Lions will open their 2025 season at 4 p.m. on Friday, February 7, against Duke before facing Mississippi State at 7 p.m. the same day.

Following Friday’s pair of games, Penn State will continue to face a tough set of opponents on Saturday as it takes on Mizzou and Kennesaw State at noon and 6 p.m., respectively. To round out the weekend in the Sunshine State, the Nittany Lions go head-to-head with Notre Dame at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Penn State returned 15 letterwinners from the 2024 roster, along with 2024 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and NFCA First Team All-Great Lakes Region pitcher, Bridget Nemeth. Second-Team All-Big Ten selection, Maddie Gordon, returns to the lineup as well.

All games at the Leadoff Classic will be played at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Florida.
