[Photo Story] Penn State’s 2024 P.O.C. Pep Rally

Homecoming week is in full swing and for Thursday’s activities, the Penn State community came out for the annual P.O.C. Pep Rally, hosted by the Paul Robeson Cultural Center.

The P.O.C. Pep Rally was hosted in the HUB, where the community came together to showcase its different cultures and have a great time. This year’s theme was “Pride in Our Community.”

Our photographers were at the HUB to capture all of the fun of the event, documenting the moments when the building was rocking.

This year’s P.O.C. Pep Rally was hosted by two students, Mitchell Brown III and Stacey Annor-Ampofo, who introduced themselves while walking out to Cash Cobain’s smash hit, “Fisher.”

The first group performance of the night belonged to the Eminence Modeling Troupe, which performed several runway walks and dance numbers in their prep-school-themed attire.

That performance was followed up by Ambitions Performance Company, a dance group that performed a variety of different dance styles and got the crowd hyped up early.

A break in the action included a T-shirt toss and a thrilling game of musical chairs that had the crowd up on their feet.

After the break in action, Urban Dance Troupe was the next group to perform. Urban Dance Troupe made its second Homecoming appearance after winning Tuesday’s ‘For the Glory’ Talent Show.

Afrique Fusion was up next, showcasing its flair on many hit songs, including Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” and LeoStayTrill’s “Pink Lemonade (Str8 Reload).”

Caliente, a Hispanic-based dance group, was up next as it brought the heat to the Pep Rally stage with its signature red accessories.

Island Fever, a Caribbean dance group, danced next while repping its country through dance and with flags showcased as accessories.

Island Fever wasn’t the only one to represent its countries as some members of the crowd showed pride for their home countries as well

Dark Storm, Penn State’s only step dance team, commanded the crowd with its chants as its stomps roared through the HUB crowd.

A dance battle preceded the final performance of the night when the winner walked away with a pair of AirPod Pro Max headphones.

B.L.K. Elites was the final performer of the night as it rocked the Pep Rally stage, dancing to a mix of R&B and Hip-Hop songs.

Finally, all of the community’s Greek Life came together to stroll, a tradition amongst P.O.C. Greek organizations that always marks the end of the P.O.C. Pep Rally
