Penn State Football Jumps To No. 7 In AP Poll

Penn State football climbed two spots in the latest AP Poll, the Associated Press announced Sunday. The Nittany Lions’ rise came after their 21-7 top-20 win over Illinois on Saturday.

Saturday was the first real shake-up in the top 10. No. 6 Ole Miss lost to unranked Kentucky, No. 2 Georgia fell to No. 4 Alabama in an instant classic, and No. 10 Utah lost to unranked Arizona at home. Miami also fell one spot to No. 8 after squeaking past Virginia Tech.

As for the rest of the poll, No. 12 Michigan squeaked by Minnesota, No. 13 USC came back and beat Wisconsin, and No. 16 Notre Dame survived No. 15 Louisville.

Penn State will host UCLA on Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff for the annual Stripe Out game at noon on Saturday, October 5.
