Penn State Football Rises To No. 4 In AP Poll

Penn State football rose to No. 4 in the AP Poll, the Associated Press announced Sunday. The bump came after the Nittany Lions defeated UCLA 27-11 and two top-four teams lost Saturday.

The Nittany Lions ranking was their highest since the 2021 season just before Penn State lost to then-No. 3 Iowa on the road.

The top 10 saw a big shake-up this weekend. No. 1 Alabama lost to Vanderbilt, No. 4 Tennessee lost to Arkansas, No. 9 Missouri lost to Texas A&M, and No. 10 Michigan lost to Washington.

As for the rest of the top 25, No. 11 USC was upset by Minnesota, No. 22 Louisville lost to SMU, and No. 25 UNLV fell to Syracuse. Texas is back at No. 1, followed by Ohio State and Oregon.

Penn State goes on the road for the first time since week one to face now-unranked USC at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 12. The game will air on CBS.
