Penn State Football Moves To No. 3 In AP Poll

Penn State football moved to No. 3 in the latest AP Poll, the Associated Press announced Sunday. The Nittany Lions move up one spot after beating USC 33-30 in overtime on Saturday.

The Nittany Lions’ No. 3 ranking was their highest since they were ranked No. 3 in October 2017. That Penn State team spent a few weeks ranked No. 2 before a loss to Michigan took it out. Penn State ended the 2017 season with a Fiesta Bowl win over Washington.

There were more upsets this week in the AP Poll. No. 3 Oregon beat No. 2 Ohio State, No. 9 Ole Miss lost to No. 13 LSU in overtime, and Arizona State took down No. 16 Utah on Friday. The top five teams are now Texas, Oregon, Penn State, Ohio State, and Georgia.

Penn State has its second and final bye week next week and will head to Wisconsin the following week. The time and broadcast of that game are to be determined.
