Transfer Portal Roundup: Week Eight

We’re a little more than halfway through the college football season, and this weekend provided us with another great slate of action-packed games.

While Penn State football had the week off, many Nittany Lion transfers suited up throughout the week to bring the action to fans who needed to satisfy their football itch with the blue and white idle.

Here’s a closer look at how some of those players performed over the weekend.

KeAndre Lambert-Smith, Auburn

After a standout performance against Georgia last week, wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith only caught two passes for 16 yards in Auburn’s 21-17 loss to No. 19 Missouri. Lambert-Smith’s 16 yards were a season-low in what has otherwise been an impressive season for the Virginia native.

Jaden Dottin, Toledo

Coming off the back of two strong outings, wide receiver Jaden Dottin had two catches for 17 yards in Toledo’s 13-6 victory over Northern Illinois.

King Mack, Alabama

For the second straight week in a row, defensive back King Mack recorded two tackles in Alabama’s loss to Tennessee in a tough 24-17 nailbiter. Mack has six total tackles on the year, with three of those tackles being assisted. Mack also found himself at the center of some Twitter controversy after he appeared to fake an injury in the middle of the game with the Volunteers.

London Montgomery, East Carolina

Running back London Montgomery recorded four carries for 19 yards in East Carolina’s 45-28 loss to Army. The former Penn State running back and Scranton native is averaging six yards per carry through the first two months of the season.

Alex Bacchetta, Rice

Punter Alex Bacchetta recorded three punts that went for a total of 127 yards in Rice’s 24-10 loss to Tulane. Bacchetta’s longest punt of the game went 50 yards, increasing his 43 yards per punt average on the season.
