Penn State Men’s Hockey Ranked No. 18 In USCHO Poll

After a home opener sweep, Penn State men’s hockey was ranked No. 18 in the USCHO Poll. This was the first time the Nittany Lions were ranked since January 2024.

Head coach Guy Gadowsky’s squad faced St. Lawrence in the home opener at Pegula Ice Arena, where the team won 3-2 on Friday and 3-1 on Saturday. Coming off the bye week, freshman Keaton Peters scored the game-winning goal in the third period to secure the win for the Nittany Lions and his first collegiate goal. In the second game, Charlie Cerrato scored his first collegiate goal, putting the game away and securing the sweep.

The Nittany Lions have won four straight home openers, moving to 9-2-1 in home openers at Pegula Ice Arena.

Penn State will travel to Minneapolis for the first conference series of the season against Minnesota at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 1.
