Penn State Women’s Hockey Remains No. 12 In USCHO Poll

Penn State women’s hockey remained No. 12 in the USCHO Poll after getting third place in the Ice Breaker Tournament, the organization announced Monday.  This was the sixth consecutive week the Nittany Lions were ranked No. 12.

The Nittany Lions lost in the first round of the tournament to No. 9 Cornell 2-0. Penn State competed against Stonehill for third place the following day where the team dominated over the Skyhawks 11-1.

Grace Outwater recorded her first collegiate hat trick while Mckenna Walsh scored her first collegiate goal in the Stonehill game. Katie DeSa, Lauren Barbro, and Annie Spring all split the weekend in goaltending for the Nittany Lions. The Penn State defense only allowed 14 shots on goal in the game against Stonehill, a season-low.

The Nittany Lions will return home against Syracuse in Pegula Ice Arena at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 31.
