NBC To Show Penn State White Out In IMAX Theaters

The Nittany Lions are gonna be on the big screen, folks.

NBC announced it will be partnering with IMAX to show Penn State football’s White Out game against Washington in select IMAX theaters around the country live this Saturday, November 9.

IMAX is a format of film screening that emphasizes large screens and high-resolution projection to immerse viewers in the film. It is traditionally used for narrative blockbuster films, but will expand into the realm of live athletics to show the “Greatest Show in College Sports.”

The game will be shown in 23 theaters in nine states: California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Virginia. The full list of theaters can be found on IMAX’s website.

Seven of the theaters are in the Huskies’ home state while six are in Pennsylvania. There are no theaters within two hours of Penn State showing the game. The closest theater participating in this event is the RC Queensgate Movies 13 & IMAX in York, Pennsylvania, which is about two hours and ten minutes away.

Ticket prices vary from location to location, ranging from around $25-$30. Tickets are not released yet for all locations but are available on Fandango for some.

This will be the second week in a row that the Nittany Lions’ matchup is streaming in unique settings with large screens. This past weekend’s matchup against Ohio State was screened by Cosm, an immersive spherical-shaped theater located in both Dallas and Los Angeles.
