Tyler Warren Named Mackey Award Semifinalist

Penn State football tight end Tyler Warren has been named a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award, the team announced Tuesday.

The Mackey Award is given annually to the best tight end in college football, and Warren earned the nomination behind a stellar senior season so far. Warren has done it all this season, accumulating 606 receiving yards on 51 receptions, 87 rushing yards on 10 carries, and four touchdowns.

Offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki has unlocked Warren as an offensive weapon. The senior tight end has logged snaps at almost every offensive position, a true Swiss Army Knife for the Nittany Lions.

The 2023 Mackey Award was awarded to Georgia’s Brock Bowers, who totaled 882 yards on 56 receptions and 13 touchdowns for the Bulldogs a season ago.

Warren is set to retake the stage at 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, when the Nittany Lions take on the Washington Huskies in Beaver Stadium.
