Anthony Donkoh Named Shaun Alexander Award Semifinalist

Penn State football offensive lineman Anthony Donkoh was named a semifinalist for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award, the Maxwell Football Club announced Wednesday.

Donkoh, a redshirt freshman, has yet to give up a sack in his first 178 snaps recorded and has earned a 78.8 run-block grade, ranking him fifth amongst Big Ten offensive linemen with at least 300 run-blocking snaps recorded.

Donkoh joined the likes of Alabama’s Ryan Williams, Colorado’s Jordan Seaton, Georgia’s KJ Bolden, South Carolina’s Dylan Stewart, Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith, Nebraska’s Dylan Raiola, and West Virginia’s Josiah Trotter as semifinalists. The 2023 Shaun Alexander Freshman of The Year Award was given to Alabama safety Caleb Downs, who has since transferred to Ohio State.

The five finalists for the Shaun Alexander Award will be announced on December 4, 2024.
