Saquon Barkley Named NFC Offensive Player Of The Week

Former Penn State football running back Saquon Barkley has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Barkley has been on a tear for the Philadelphia Eagles, ranking second in total rushing with 925 yards through eight games behind Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry.

During the Philadelphia Eagles’ 28-23 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Barkley erupted for 159 yards on the ground on 27 carries, and 40 yards receiving on three receptions while scoring two touchdowns. The seven-year veteran also pulled off a never-before-seen backward hurdle, leaping over a Jaguars defender.

Barkley’s 1,071 all-purpose yards this season are the most in Eagles franchise history through eight games.

Barkley is set to retake the stage at 4:25 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, at AT&T Stadium when the Eagles take on the Dallas Cowboys.
