Sophia Gladieux Named To First Team All-Big Ten

Penn State field hockey forward Sophia Gladieux was named to the First Team All-Big Ten on Wednesday afternoon.

Gladieux played the most instrumental part in Penn State’s season, leading the team with 20 goals. The rest of the team scored 16 combined. Gladieux also assisted five goals, bringing her season total in points up to 45 goals.

As for the whole of the Big Ten, Gladieux finished with the same amount of goals as Northwestern’s Ashley Sessa with one less game played. She led the Big Ten in other major statistical categories such as total shots and shots on goal.

Gladieux entered the season after an Olympic campaign with USA Field Hockey in France this past summer, where she scored her first Olympic goal in a draw with Spain.

Gladieux added to her already illustrious Penn State career with the selection. This was her fifth straight First Team All-Big Ten selection. Other notable awards include NFHCA First Team All-American selections in 2021-23 and Big Ten Player of the Year in 2022.
