Nittany Lions In The NFL: Week 10 Roundup

The 10th week of NFL action has concluded, and it’s hard to believe we’re past the halfway point of the NFL season already.

The Nittany Lions took care of business on Saturday with a 35-6 victory over Washington in its annual White Out game at Beaver Stadium.

Similarly, Penn State alumni across the NFL took to the field for their respective teams, delivering dominant performances.

Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys

Linebacker Micah Parsons returned to the field this week after suffering a high ankle sprain in the Dallas Cowboys’ week four matchup against the New York Giants in late September. The former All-Pro linebacker made an immediate impact upon his return to the Cowboys’ lineup. Parsons sacked Phiadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts twice, recorded two total tackles, and forced a fumble.

Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles

Saquon Barkley continued his dominant 2024 campaign in the Eagles’ 34-6 win over the Cowboys. The Eagles running back rushed for 66 yards on 14 attempts, averaging 4.7 yards per carry, and recorded a single reception for 12 yards.

Mike Gesicki, Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki has been on a solid run lately, with impressive performances in weeks eight and nine. In Thursday night’s 35-34 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Gesicki’s production cooled off, though still contributed with 30 yards on four receptions from nine targets.

Austin Johnson, Buffalo Bills

Defensive tackle Austin Johnson recorded his second interception in three games during the Buffalo Bills’ 30-20 win over Indianapolis on Sunday. Despite not registering any tackles or sacks, the nine-year NFL veteran made a key play to contribute to the Bills’ victory.

Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers

Tight end Pat Freiermuth got involved in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 28-27 narrow victory over the Washington Commanders. The Steelers pass catcher hauled in three receptions for 17 yards and paid a visit to the endzone on Sunday, marking his first touchdown since week five.

Chop Robinson, Miami Dolphins

Defensive end Chop Robinson made his presence felt in the Dolphins 23-15 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football. Robinson recorded a sack and two solo tackles, marking the second sack of his career. The rookie’s first career sack came in the Dolphin’s loss to the Bills in week nine.

Theo Johnson, New York Giants

Tight end Theo Johnson has strung together solid performances over the last three weeks and seems to be building a strong rapport with quarterback Daniel Jones, highlighted by his first career touchdown against Washington last week. In the Giants’ 20-17 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, the rookie tight end posted 37 yards on four receptions.

Other Notables:

  • Wide receiver Jahan Dotson recorded one catch for 27 yards in the Eagles’ win. Dotson is set to take on his former team, the Washington Commanders, on Thursday Night Football this week.
  • Safety Ji’Ayir Brown recorded one solo tackle and two assisted tackles in the San Francisco 49ers’ narrow victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
  • Linebacker Odafe Oweh posted two total tackles in the Ravens’ victory over the division-rival Bengals.
  • Tight end Brenton Strange caught two passes for 25 yards in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 12-7 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
  • Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. recorded five solo tackles in Pittsburgh’s victory over Washington.
