Penn State Softball Adds Five Recruits on National Signing Day

Penn State softball signed five players to its recruiting class of 2024 on National Signing Day.

Three position players and two pitchers will join the Nittany Lions next season. These five additions could bolster a Penn State team that broke a 13-year drought by making it to the NCAA Tournament last season.

Breanna Hanik

Breanna Hanik is an outfielder hailing from Oak Lawn, Illinois. During her time at Marist High School, she was ranked as the nation’s No. 65 overall player and No. 22-ranked outfield prospect. She was named an All-Conference choice and added to the All-American watch list in 2023 and 2024.

Allison Oneacre

Allison Oneacre is an infielder from Alpharetta, Georgia. Oneacre was the highest-ranked prospect in this year’s signing class as the No. 19 prospect and the No. 5-ranked infielder nationally. Her resume included four First Team All-Region choices, two First-Team All-State honors, two team MVP awards, and the WSBTV Georgia High School Athlete of the Week.

Mackenzie Duncan

Mackenzie Duncan is a pitcher from Winter Garden, Florida. Duncan is the No. 25 pitching prospect in the 2025 signing class, with the No. 58 overall ranking. She was named her high school’s team MVP in 2021 and 2022, earned Florida 5A Player of the Year accolades in 2021, and was an Orlando Sentinel Top Athlete in 2023.

Kirsten Finarelli

Kirsten Finarelli is an infielder hailing from Lehman, Pennsylvania. Finarelli is ranked No. 21 among catchers nationwide. She owns PIAA All-State accolades in her past two seasons and was Pennsylvania 3A Player of the Year.

Gabby Gradisher

Gabby Gradishar is a pitcher and infielder hailing from Champion, Ohio. Gradishar was named a First Team All-State, First Team All-District, SBLive All-Ohio First Team, MaxPreps Second Team All-American, a YSN Offensive Player of the Year, and two-time District Champion Gradishar. The No. 54 overall prospect in the country, Gradisher is also tied for the state of Ohio’s home run record for a single season with 23.
