Your Official Penn State-Purdue Drinking Game

Folks, it’s the final countdown.

There are only three games left in the Penn State football regular season. Win them all, and there’s a great chance Penn State is in the College Football Playoff. Lose one, and there’s a great chance the Nittany Lions miss the playoffs again.

If there is ever a time to drink, it’s right now.

Penn State’s Saturday game against Purdue kicks off at 3:30 p.m., so it’s time to get early, get started, and enjoy the game. Without further ado, here’s your drinking game for the weekend.

  • If someone mentions the SEC, take a shot. We are all sick of the media ripping on the Big Ten and Penn State since the rankings were released. No, South Carolina would not “dog walk” Penn State.
  • When you have a random panic attack about the playoffs, it’s OK. Take a few sips and try to calm down.
  • If the pregame show mentions our strength of schedule, take a lonnnggg sip. Winning in the Big Ten is not easy — just ask Michigan.
  • If you made the trip and are attending the game, open a drink and air cheers with us. We respect your commitment.
  • At the start of the game, take a shot. It’s go time.
  • If Penn State scores on the first drive, finish your drink because we live for fast starts. Please, Penn State, put this game to bed early.
  • If Tyler Warren gets a touch in the red zone, take a sip. If he scores, finish your drink. Where was this against Ohio State?
  • If Corey Smith breaks another long run, take a shot. Man, he’s going to be good.
  • When you notice a freshman getting some time, take a sip. The future is bright, folks.
  • If Penn State is leading at halftime, finish half your drink. It’s Purdue, folks. We’re not trying to kill you.
  • If Nick Singleton gets in the end zone, take a shot. “Short-term” injury no more.
  • If the Boilermakers take the lead, take two shots. There’s no way the giant killers do it again, right?
  • While they show the scores of other games on the broadcast, take a sip for every SEC team that is losing.
  • If Jaylen Reed gets an interception, take another shot. He has three picks in his last four games, so surely he keeps it going.
  • Every time Purdue scores, take a sip.
  • If Penn State loses, grab the handle, it’s going to be a long rest of the season.

As always, stay safe and have a good time. Go State!
