Penn State Football Stays At No. 4 In College Football Playoff Rankings

For the third consecutive week, Penn State football was ranked No. 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings, released Tuesday evening. The Nittany Lions went on the road and narrowly defeated Minnesota 26-25 on Saturday. Penn State was seeded No. 6 and is projected to face No. 11-seeded Indiana.

There has been a change to the top five this week. Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, and Penn State remain in the same four spots but No. 5 is now occupied by Notre Dame. Last week’s No. 5 team, Indiana, lost to the Buckeyes 38-15 on Saturday.

There were even more shakeups in the rest of the top 25. Army fell out of the rankings after losing to Notre Dame, and No. 7 Alabama, No. 9 Ole Miss, No. 14 BYU, No. 15 Texas A&M, and No. 16 Colorado all lost as well.

It’s rivalry week this Saturday, so look for more upsets. No. 3 Texas and No. 20 Texas A&M will play for a spot in the SEC championship, No. 18 Iowa State plays No. 24 Kansas State, No. 12 Clemson will host No. 15 South Carolina, and No. 2 Ohio State will face Michigan at home.

As for the Nittany Lions, they’ll host Maryland for Senior Day at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 30. The game will air on the Big Ten Network.
