Abdul Carter & Tyler Warren Named Walter Camp All-Americans
Penn State football’s Abdul Carter and Tyler Warren were named Walter Camp All-Americans, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced Thursday. Carter was named to the first team, while Warren was named to the second team.
This was the duo’s second All-American nod for the 2024 season, Carter and Warren were also named Senior Bowl All-Americans on Saturday.
Carter’s junior season saw him make a positional change from linebacker to defensive end, and he’s accumulated 60 total tackles, 10 sacks, three passes defended, and two forced fumbles for the Nittany Lions. The Philadelphia native was named an All-Big Ten First Team selection as well as the 2024 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and the Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year. He also earned a nod from the Associated Press, being named the AP Big Ten Defensive Player of The Year.
Warren had a phenomenal season in his own right, being named the 2024 John Mackey Award recipient and selected for the All-Big Ten First Team. The senior tight end has recorded 1,062 receiving yards on 88 receptions and has scored six touchdowns for Penn State this season. Warren saw his best statistical season under offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, being used all over the field in both the run and passing attack. Warren’s versatility earned him a nod as a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award, which is presented to college football’s most versatile player.
Carter and Warren will retake the field on Saturday, December 21, at noon when the Nittany Lions face SMU in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
