Abdul Carter & Tyler Warren Named To Sporting News All-American First Team

Penn State football defensive end Abdul Carter and tight end Tyler Warren were named Sporting News First-Team All-Americans on Wednesday.

This marks Carter’s fifth All-American accolade this season, making him Penn State football’s 15th Unanimous All-American. Along with Sporting News, Carter has been named to the first team by the Walter Camp Foundation, the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), the Football Writers Association of America(FWAA), and the AP.

The nomination marks Warren’s second first-team All-American selection this year as he was also named to the first team by the FWAA. Warren was named to the All-American second team by the Walter Camp Foundation, the AFCA, and the AP.

Both Carter and Warren will be large factors in Penn State football’s first-round College Football Playoff game against SMU. The game will be played at noon on Saturday, December 21, in Beaver Stadium.
