Penn State Football Set As 11-Point Favorites Over Boise State

James Franklin can win big games, folks.

After dismantling SMU in round one of the College Football Playoff, Penn State will travel to Glendale, Arizona, to take on the Boise State Broncos in the Fiesta Bowl.

DraftKings has the line for the matchup set at 11 points in favor of the Nittany Lions, with an over/under set at 52 points. The sportsbook has also set the money line for the contest at -425 for Penn State, making Boise State a +330 underdog.

While the Nittany Lions and Broncos have never faced each other in their respective histories, Penn State is a frequent flier at the Fiesta Bowl. The Nittany Lions are a collective 7-0 in the bowl game, including its 14-10 victory over Miami in 1986 to win the school’s most recent national championship honor.

After last week’s blowout victory, Penn State is 7-7 against the spread and 6-8 playing towards the over/under this season, according to OddsShark.

Stats To Know

Two interesting stats for this game are that Penn State is 12-0 in its last 12 games entering the matchup as the favorite, whereas Boise State is 0-6 in its last 6 games playing as the underdog.

Pick Of The Week (3-1)

Drew Allar over 250 yards passing at +160.

While Allar is only averaging just over 215 yards per game through the air so far this season, you can expect a big performance from him in this matchup. The Broncos’ defense allows on average 246.8 passing yards per game, ranking them at No. 110 across all FBS teams in that category.
