Tariq Castro-Fields Released By Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles released former Penn State football cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields, the organization announced Thursday. This marked the third time Castro-Fields has been released this season as he was formerly with the Washington Commanders and Carolina Panthers.

Castro-Fields first played with Penn State in 2017 during his true freshman season, where he appeared in 12 games. Castro-Fields was named a starter the following year and amassed 15 pass breakups over his next two years.

Castro-Fields used his COVID-19 eligibility to return to Happy Valley for one more year in 2021, where he made 32 tackles and had 6 more pass breakups.

Castro-Fields was drafted in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers but was waived before the season started. Since then, Castro-Fields appeared with the Washington Commanders in 2023, where he had four tackles on the year.
