Brainstorming New Year’s Resolutions for Iconic Penn Staters

Happy New Year, folks! As the calendar flips, we all set our sights on becoming the best versions of ourselves — at least for the first few weeks, right? The first couple of weeks, we go strong on what we think to be a fresh start, but let’s be honest, by the time February rolls around we are back to the same old routine.

But what about the legendary faces of Penn State? Surely, they have some resolutions themselves. We’ve put together a list of what we think some of our most iconic Penn Staters are hoping to achieve this year.

James Franklin: Win A Big Game

That’s it. Nothing too crazy. James Franklin’s keeping it simple — just win a big one. Maybe, it’s during the College Football Playoff. Maybe, it’s just beating Michigan. But let’s be honest, any win would be a step in the right direction. Baby steps, people.

The Nittany Lion: Bulk Up

This year, the Nittany Lion is hitting the gym…hard. He’s feeling a little scrawny these days, so it’s officially bulking season.

Neeli Bendapudi: Show Up

We get it — being president is a big job. But this year, she is taking it a step further. Neeli Bendapudi decided that this year she is going to show face at more events. While she has the title of president, she now needs to show that she’s the boss.

Saquon Barkley: Stay Healthy

It’s no secret that Saquon Barkley’s a beast, so his top priority for 2025 is simple: stay healthy.

Drew Allar: Think Fast

Drew Allar’s got the skills. He’s got the brain. But now, he’s going to think — and move — quicker. No more waiting for the perfect play to develop. It’s all about instinct and decision-making under pressure. If Allar can speed up his decision-making as much as he can throw a football, 2025 is looking really bright for him (and Penn State football).
