Where Do Nittany Lions Place In End-Of-Season NFL Mock Drafts?

With Super Bowl LIX fewer than three weeks away, the 2025 NFL Draft order is starting to take shape with each passing day. That means it’s time to start looking toward the draft and revisiting where college prospects land among mock drafts throughout the nation.
While the national championship concluded a few days ago, each prospect now has a full season of gameplay for scouts to evaluate before the NFL Combine in late February.
Let’s look at how the draft-eligible Penn State players are being evaluated for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Chris Trapasso (CBS Sports)
CBS Sports writer Chris Trapasso published his latest mock draft that predicted two first-round draft picks out of Penn State. With the 10th pick in the draft, Trapasso projected Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Abdul Carter to be drafted by the Chicago Bears.
Later in the first round, Trapasso predicted Mackey Award winner Tyler Warren would be selected by the Los Angeles Chargers with the 23rd pick in the draft. If Trapasso’s prediction holds, it would be the second consecutive year that Penn State has two first-round draftees after Olu Fashanu and Chop Robinson did so in last year’s draft.
Jason McIntyre (Fox Sports)
Jason McIntyre of Fox Sports also has Carter and Warren projected to be drafted in the first round in his latest mock draft, but he predicts that they’ll be off the board a lot faster than Trapasso anticipates.
McIntyre predicts that Carter will be drafted third overall by the New York Giants, which would make him the highest-picked Penn Stater since another Giants draftee, Saquon Barkley.
McIntyre projected that Warren would be selected by the Indianapolis Colts with the 14th overall pick in the draft, citing that he would love to see Warren with a dynamic offensive coach. If McIntyre’s prediction holds, Warren would be the highest-drafted Penn State tight end since Kyle Brady was picked ninth overall by the New York Jets in the 1995 Draft.
Connor Rogers (NBC Sports)
Connor Rogers of NBC Sports becomes the third writer to project Carter and Warren to be first-round draft picks in his latest mock draft. Like McIntyre, Rogers predicted that Tyler Warren would be drafted 14th overall by the Indianapolis Colts.
“Warren is an excellent middle of the field and red zone threat, but can also help the run game for both Richardson and Jonathan Taylor,” Rogers said.
On the other hand, Rogers believes that the Carolina Panthers will select Carter with the eighth overall pick in the draft. If this prediction holds, Carter would become the first Penn State defensive player to be selected within the top 10 since Courtney Brown and LaVar Arrington were drafted No. 1 and No. 2 overall in the 2000 NFL Draft.
Vinnie Iyer (Sporting News)
Following along with the trend, Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News joined the consensus that the two premier Nittany Lions will be drafted in the first round in his mock draft. Iyer has Carter projected to be drafted second overall by the Cleveland Browns, making him the sixth player in Penn State history to be drafted within the top two.
Iyer describes Carter as a “disruptive pass-rushing freak” and believes he would fit well within Jim Schwartz’s system alongside perennial All-Pro Myles Garrett.
Additionally, Iyer predicts that Tyler Warren will be drafted 19th overall by the Denver Broncos.
“Warren can take over games receiving with his size, strength, and athleticism, which also are key assets in run blocking and wrinkle plays,” says Iyer.
Tankathon
Tankathon’s latest three-round mock draft also joins the consensus that Carter and Warren will be drafted within the first round. Carter is projected to go fourth overall to the New England Patriots while Warren is predicted to be selected 14th overall by the Indianapolis Colts.
There were no Nittany Lions projected to be drafted in the second round, but safety KJ Winston was projected to be the second pick of the third round by the Kansas City Chiefs. Winston missed the majority of the season due to a long-term injury but declared for the draft in December 2024.
