Penn State Men’s Hockey Ranked No. 18 In USCHO Poll

The surging Penn State men’s hockey team has been recognized for its recent hot streak. After a road sweep of then-No. 19 Wisconsin, the Nittany Lions have re-entered the USCHO rankings for the first time since November, sitting at No. 18.

In their weekend series, Penn State visited the Kohl Center to look for revenge against a Wisconsin team that swept the Nittany Lions at Pegula Ice Arena in November. On Friday, Reese Laubach and Aiden Fink potted goals in a 2-0 win, with Arsenii Sergeev posting a 25-save shutout. On Saturday, Penn State got a multi-goal game from Laubach and three-point efforts by Danny Dzhaniyev and Charlie Cerrato to roll to a 6-2 victory, cementing their first sweep of the Badgers in Wisconsin since October 2022.

Up to No. 16 in the Pairwise rankings and approaching the cut line for the NCAA Tournament, the Nittany Lions are back in action at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 14, at Pegula Ice Arena against Notre Dame.
