The Ultimate THON 2025 Survival Guide

THON 2025 is almost here, folks.

Whether you’re a dancer, committee member, or spectator, preparation is essential to make it through the 46 hours. To help you out, we’ve put together this THON survival guide, packed with essential tips on what to bring, what to avoid, and how to make the most of your weekend!

Stock Up Before THON

The last thing you want is to realize mid-THON that you’re missing something essential. To avoid this, stock up on supplies ahead of time at McLanahan’s, dining hall markets, Target, or CVS. Plan ahead now, your future exhausted self will thank you.

THON Must-Haves:

  • Clear Bag That Fits Policy Rules: THON enforces a strict clear bag policy, so make sure yours meets the requirements. A belt bag is also a great hands-free option that’s allowed.
  • Meal Prep Strategy: If you’re leaving and coming back, plan your meals ahead of time. You’ll need all the energy you can get.
  • Tennis Balls: Perfect for rolling out foot cramps or tossing around for a quick mental reset.
  • Empty Reusable Water Bottle: Hydration is key! There are refill stations inside the BJC, but your bottle must be empty before entering.
  • Portable Charger: Your phone battery will betray you. Be prepared.
  • Deodorant: Body wipes also work if you need a quick refresh.
  • Tissues: You’ll be grateful for these during the Final Four.
  • Comfy Shoes: Sneakers or another form of supportive footwear are essential!

What Not to Bring:

  • No Pillows: This isn’t a place to sleep. We’re here to stand For The Kids!
  • No Outside Food: Stick to the rules and eat in designated areas.
  • No Drugs Or Alcohol: THON is a family-friendly event, not a frat party. Make sure its FTOK if you’re bringing it, folks!
  • Avoid Caffeine: It might seem like a good idea at first, but the crash later isn’t worth it.
  • No Backpacks: Unless it meets THON’s clear bag and sizing policy.
  • No Granola Bars Duct-Taped to Your Chest: We’ve seen it before. It’s weird. Don’t be that person.

THON is about more than surviving 46 hours, it’s about supporting Four Diamonds and fighting childhood cancer. Whether you’re standing in support, dancing on the floor, or cheering from the stands, every moment counts. Take care of yourself, look out for each other, and keep the energy high For The Kids!
