Crafting More Of The Best THON Haikus

The THON graveyard shift is a strange time. As you try to stop yourself from slipping into a delusional state, the music playing throughout the Bryce Jordan Center actually makes this terribly hard to do.
What better way to combat this than to craft the perfect THON haikus? If you don’t have an English minor and are unfamiliar with the concept, a haiku is a 17-syllable poem with three lines. Haikus are not a rhyming poem and usually follow a 5-7-5 syllable pattern.
Now that you’re familiar with the art of haikus, let’s get to crafting some of the best THON poems.
Dancers on the floor
No sleeping or sitting ’til
Sunday Afternoon
The National Act
The Saturday pep rally
And the Final Four
Sitting on Press Row
We watch the dancers below
Lining up for food
Doing the Line Dance
Many times in one hour
Woah, that is a lot
Staring into space
Captivated by letters
Swaying side to side
Dancing for a cure
For forty-six hours straight
It’s all for the kids
Orgs go through the stands
Matching shirts, letters, and hats
Looking good there, folks
Live musical guest
Leaving the building shaking
Early in the morn
