Report: Abdul Carter Will Not Participate In NFL Combine

Penn State football defensive end Abdul Carter will not participate in the NFL Combine as he recovers from a shoulder injury, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Carter first injured his shoulder against Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl on December 31. While Carter left that game early, he did play against Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl.

Rosenhaus added he’s sending a letter to all NFL teams on Monday from Dr. Dan Cooper, who examined Carter’s shoulder in Dallas earlier this month, saying Carter is cleared for training and will be cleared to participate in Penn State’s Pro Day on March 28.

Carter will still participate in physical exams and interviews at the combine.

“We fully expect Abdul to be recovered in time to work out at his pro day at Penn State and he will perform at a very high level,” Rosenhaus said in Schefter’s report.

Carter was one of five Penn Staters to be invited to March’s NFL Combine, along with Tyler Warren, K.J. Winston, Jaylen Reed, and Kobe King.
