Report: Tyler Warren Will Not Participate In NFL Combine Drills

Former Penn State football tight end Tyler Warren will not participate in on-field drills at this year’s NFL Combine, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Warren will be the second Nittany Lion to opt out of workouts after Abdul Carter did so to avoid aggravating a shoulder injury.
Warren will still be interviewing with teams at the NFL Combine as he hopes to join Ted Kwalick and Kyle Brady as the only Penn State tight ends to be drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Schultz also wrote that Warren has been invited to attend the NFL Draft in Green Bay, an honor that the NFL typically gives out to only a handful of first-round prospects. Last year, only 13 players were given green room invitations for the draft in Detroit.
Warren is projected to be the first tight end taken off the board come draft night after coming off an All-American season where he caught 104 passes for 1,233 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. Warren also received the Mackey Award for his efforts last season.
