State College Borough Announces Parking Enforcement Changes for State Patty’s Weekend

As State Patty’s weekend approaches, the Borough of State College has announced temporary parking restrictions to manage the influx of visitors and discourage excessive partying throughout the area.

From Friday, February 28, through the morning of Sunday, March 2, the State College Parking Department will not grant any overnight parking permissions. Additionally, event rates will be enforced starting at 6 p.m. on Friday for all surface lots and parking garages in the borough for any parking sessions exceeding three hours.

To maintain safety and order, lawn parking will not be permitted at any time throughout the weekend.

The parking department also emphasized that Pennsylvania Vehicle Code violations will be strictly enforced, including:

  • No parking on sidewalks, intersections, or crosswalks
  • No parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection
  • No parking within 30 feet of a stop sign
  • No parking more than 12 inches from the curb
  • No parking against traffic
  • No parking in front of driveways
  • No parking anytime in restricted areas

Vehicles violating these regulations will be subject to ticketing and towing and other non-PA Vehicle Code violations will also be strictly enforced.

On-street parking meters and parking lots will be enforced daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

For any additional questions or concerns, residents and visitors are encouraged to contact the State College Parking Department at (814) 278-4769.
