State College To Remove Several Downtown Parking Meters

The Borough of State College will begin the removal of various multi-space parking meters downtown on Monday, March 31, it announced Tuesday.

The 400 block of West Beaver Avenue, the 200 block of South Burrowes Street, the 300 block of South Allen Steet, and the 100 block of West Foster Avenue will all have meters removed.

All parking spaces affected by the change can be utilized but will require a mobile payment through the ParkMobile App, which can be found on the App Store and Google Play platforms.

The multi-space meters will be replaced by scannable QR codes that will direct customers through the payment process.

Parking kiosks will remain at McAlister deck and in the Beaver Lot. Both of these locations will accept payment through credit cards, cash, or through the ParkMobile App.

All on-street parking will continue to be enforced from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with most Sundays being free of charge.
