Former Penn State Football Running Back Tank Smith Hired As Robert Morris Assistant Coach

Former Penn State football running back Tank Smith has been hired as Robert Morris’ assistant running backs coach, he announced Wednesday afternoon.

Smith will join the Colonials in the 2025 college football season as a member of head coach Bernard Clark Jr.’s staff.

Smith graduated in 2023 after spending four seasons as a run-on with Penn State, totaling 144 rushing yards as a Nittany Lion.

After graduating, Smith was hired as the assistant running backs coach for the Westminster Titans, a Division II school in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. Smith spent the entire 2024 season with the team as it earned an 8-3 record.
