Power Ranking Penn State Softball Players’ Walk-Up Songs

With Penn State softball returning home to the Nittany Lion Softball Park next week, it’s the perfect time for fans to head out to the ballpark. What’s better than enjoying the nice weather with your friends and listening to the music that plays before each hitter walks up to the plate?
Since Penn State released its 20 walk-up songs for the 2025 season, we decided to rank them. Here’s a look at the list.
20. Maddie Gordon: ‘Keep Me In The Moment’ By Jeremy Camp
I wasn’t the biggest fan of this song, and I don’t think it’s the most hype song choice out there.
19. Jordan George: ‘My Jesus’ By Anne Wilson
Country is my least favorite genre. Now, I can get behind a hype country song, but this one just falls a little flat.
18. Mady Volpe: ‘2 Slippery’ By Luh Tyler
Also, I’m not the biggest rap fan. This one just wasn’t anything special to me.
17. Jordyn Jochims: ‘Gang Gang’ By JACKBOYS & Sheck Wes
Again, this wasn’t one that I hated, but also not something I would listen to again.
16. Bridget Nemeth: ‘The Largest’ By BigXthaPlug
Out of the three rap songs at the bottom of this list, this was my favorite. But still, nothing special.
15. Kaylie Walters: ‘Daylight’ By Drake
I can always get behind a Drake walk-up song, but this one just isn’t at the top of my list. While it wasn’t the worst, there were others I just liked more.
14. Haylie Brunson: ‘Narco’ By Blasterjaxx & Timmy Trumpet
Besides 2022 Edwin Diaz, I don’t see the hype behind this song. I feel like it’s overdone, and it doesn’t get the crowd going, especially since it’s been used as background noise at baseball games.
13. Jenna Nelson: ‘Desperado’ By Rihanna
While I really like this song, I just don’t get the pump-up vibes I should be getting from it. I feel like other Rihanna songs would better fit the bill.
12. Natalie Lieto: ‘Jamming’ By Bob Marley
I respect the Bob Marley pick and love this song, but it doesn’t have enough energy to be at the top of this list.
11. Meagan Ricks: ‘Spread The Opps’ By Lecrae
I had never heard this song before, but I can see the crowd getting hype listening to it.
10. Gianna Poletti: ‘Humble’ By Kendrick Lamar
While there are other Kendrick Lamar songs I feel would be a better pick, there’s nothing wrong with “Humble.” It’s a solid walk-up song and something most of the crowd will know.
9. Lydia Coleman: ‘Did It On Em” By Nicki Minaj
Any older Nicki Minaj song transports me back to my days in competitive dance. I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing for a walk-up song, but I can see it hyping me and others up.
8. Michela Barbanente: ‘This Is How We Do It’ By Montell Jordan
While this song is a basic pick, it will get the crowd on their feet. Everyone knows the song and can vibe along.
7. Lydia Spalding: ‘Father Stretch’ By Sunday Service
I’m not the biggest fan of the Kanye West version of the song, but this choir rendition is actually great.
6. Abi Britton: ‘Bulletproof’ By La Roux & GAMPER & DADONI
When I think of a song to vibe to with my friends, this song is at the top of my list. With this song playing, the entire stadium is certain to be singing along.
5. Jillyan Jochims: ‘Beautiful’ By Snoop Dogg & Pharrell
Yet another song on this list that I didn’t know before I listened, but I enjoyed this one. Specifically for a pitching warmup, I can see this song getting someone hyped before stepping on the mound.
4. Madison Seidel: ‘Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked’ By Cage the Elephant
This song has a different vibe than most walk-up songs on the list, but the super funky beat and lyrics can get the crowd ready for an at bat.
3. Brooke Klosowicz: ‘Chelsea Dagger’ By The Fratellis
This is another basic pick, but it’s one of the best hype songs out there. It can get the crowd swaying but can also hype up a hitter to get on base.
2. Macy Chamberlin: ‘Hello’ By Martin Solveig and Dragonette
Hearing this song brings me right back to elementary school. For nostalgia purposes, this song hits and can certainly get the crowd on their feet.
1. Jiselle Hernandez: ‘SOS’ By Rihanna
Out of all of the songs here, this is clearly the winner. Rihanna never gets old, and this one is super fun and high-energy, perfect for a walk-up. It’s also a plus that everyone in the crowd knows and loves this song.
