Former Penn State Wrestlers Alex Facundo & Gary Steen Transfer To Oklahoma State

Former Penn State wrestlers Alex Facundo and Gary Steen have committed to transfer to Oklahoma State, they announced Monday.

Facundo, who entered the transfer portal last week, made a significant impact at Penn State during the 2023-24 season, filling the 165-pound slot and going 5-0 as a sophomore in the 2024-25 season before Tyler Kasak took over the 157-pound slot. He finished his time at Penn State with a 34-10 record.

Steen started at Penn State during the 2022-23 season and was a combined 19-25 throughout his Penn State career. He went 3-4 during the 2024-25 season at 133 pounds.

The two wrestlers will compete for Penn State alum David Taylor’s Cowboys, who have made waves in the wrestling world during Taylor’s one-year tenure. On Monday, the Cowboys’ heavyweight wrestler Wyatt Hendrickson won the Hodge Trophy, given to the sport’s best wrestler.
